Steering Committee Meeting
Berlin, June 9, 2003
IIgANN activities:
Committee membership: the Steering Committee will include 2 more nephrologists very active in the field of IgAN : Ron Hogg (USA) and Yoshi Hiki (Japan).
Web page: the first issue of the web page, prepared by Rosanna Coppo with the technical support of Mrs F.Trebelli had had a good start. The further development of this initiative was thought to mostly depends upon some critical points
a) Web page finances: This activity need sponsorships and financial supports from Industries to allow a regular maintenance over years, which will be favoured by the next condition of charity, as J. Feehally reported.
b) Web page information for patients: R.Hogg suggested to implement this section and he will prepare some material to this aim, based on his great experience in US.
c) Steering Committee involvement: Charges will be distributed among Steering Committee Members to make suggestions and contributions to improve the quality/ political impact/scientific content of the web page : volunteers will be welcome.
d) Each IgAN Scientist is invited to send the presentation of his Centre and ongoing Researches to R.Coppo (see the appropriate section of this web page) in order to allow exchange of ideas and young investigator visits.
e) The web
site will provide information for the next IgAN Meeting in St Etienne,
organised by F.Berthoux:
- programme on line
- submission of abstracts on line
- number of CME credits publicised
- link to NDT-E for slide presentations after the Meeting.

The organisation
is proceeding very well: see the appropriate section of this web page. Abstract
on-line submission will be organised by September.
The proceedings will be published in a Supplement issue of NDT or J. Nephrol.
ERA-EDTA collaboration: A symposium will be organised by IIgANN during the Lisbon ERA-EDTA Meeting (May 15-18 , 2004) and will be chaired by J.Feehally.
